Unfortunately, The Green Show has been postponed indefinitely.
We are sorry for any inconvenience.
We discovered that small companies did not have the budget to
exhibit at a major show, and that larger companies did not necessarily
want the two-way conversation afforded by an 'green' exhibition.
We also discovered that the potential audience for a consumer 'green'
show is limited: Some environmentally switched-on people were prepared
to make the effort to come along, but in the main, there was considerable
apathy from 'the man in the street.'
It's possible that someone will stage a large and successful 'green'
show in London, as they do in other major cities around the world.
We wish them good luck, and will be interested to speak with them
if they wish to try.

Why exhibit?
Consumers have the power to change what products we see on our
shelves and which companies provide us with services, and have
been doing so with great effect, as demonstrated by recent record-level
ethical spending in the UK. The Green Show is a response to this,
promoting and exhibiting all that is innovative, helpful and effective
in improving our world.
Ethical spending is increasing…consumers are demanding
greener products and services…make sure they come to your
company! The Green Show is the perfect opportunity to respond to
consumer pressure for green alternatives to many household and
lifestyle products:
• The Ethical Consumerism Report, compiled by the Co-operative
Bank, shows a record level of £29.4bn in spending on ethical
products in 2006 (more than spending on alcohol and cigarettes);
• The Ethical Consumerism Report published in November 2006
shows that ethical consumerism was up 11% on the previous year,
with UK household expenditure increasing by just 1.4% over the
same period. Spending on ethical food was up 18% from £4.6billion
to £5.4billion, whilst spending on green home products and
services increased from £3.8billion to £4.1billion.
Eco-travel and transport costs were also up on the previous year,
as was spending on eco-cosmetics and fashion with spending increasing
by 5%. Monies in ethical finance increased from £10.6billion
to £11.6billion over the year (Source: The Co-operative Banks
Ethical Consumerism Report 2006)
• In the same survey two years ago, shoppers said they were withholding £2.58bn
worth of business from firms with which they disagreed (Source: BBC)
• There has been a year on year decrease in the amount of
non-recycled waste per person over the last four years, whilst
the amount of recycled or composted waste is increasing (source:
Defra)
• In recent years growth in emissions from transport has
slowed (source: Defra).
• In 2004, consumer spend to offset climate change totalled £3.4
billion (source: New Economics Foundation)
Who is able to exhibit at the Green Show?
Almost no-one is excluded: Every company, organisation, individual
or group that wishes to can exhibit at The Green Show, including
retailers, energy companies and manufacturers. The Green Show is
strongly in favour of engaging ALL sectors of modern society -
it is only by doing so that we can move forward. Companies that
are engaged in manifestly reprehensible activies (cigarettes, arms,
fur etc) will not be welcome, but then they probably wouldn't want
to come anyway!
As organisers,
we will only check the materials that exhibitors wish to distribute
at the show (reused, recycled, recyclable): we will not be checking
the environmental credentials of exhibitors. We believe that it
is for every organisation to make an effort to reduce its environmental
impact: everyone has to start somewhere, and nobody is perfect.
(If you are perfect, please let us know).
Marketing and advertising
The Green Show is backed by a dedicated marketing campaign, which
includes advertising in newspapers, magazines, via email, internet
advertising on relevant websites, and specialist eco-magazines.
We will be advertising in a selection of the following specialist
publications: Living Earth, The Ecologist, Permaculture magazine,
New Consumer, Green Building Press, The Green Parent Magazine,
Place Magazine, Connect Magazine, Go Healthy, Live It Naturally,
Juno Magazine, Natural Lifestyle, The Environment Post, Green
Events, Greener Living, Resurgence; as well as more mainstream
publications such as Country Living, the Daily Express, the Daily
Mail, the Daily Telegraph and The London Paper. We will be using
popular online ‘green events’ listings, as well as
a radio/TV/national media PR campaign as the event approaches.
The marketing effort for the show will be low environmental impact,
and will concentrate not only on confirmed environmentalists, but
also on the ‘marginally-green’ cross-over demographic.
Target attendance for The Green Show is +7000
At a similar-sized show we organised in 2007, exhibitors told
us that they did not have enough staff to handle the volume of
enquires they received. One exhibitor decided that it was time
for lunch and found that it was 4pm. This highly-targeted show
should provide a high return on investment.
Sign up now to be a part of The Green Show!
Come and demonstrate your services and products to an audience
hungry for a greener and more eco-friendly life! Target attendance
is over 7000; with high-profile ‘eco-friendly’ celebrities
and well-known green pioneers invited to run workshops and discussions,
the crowds are expected to be turning up in force. We recommend
booking space early, as interest in The Green Show is already
high and spaces are sold on a first come first served basis.
We will aim for The Green Show to be have a net zero environmental
impact, and that's even before our visitors have gone away to implement
everything they have learned at the show! Click

With our experience in innovative consumer show launches, we are
confident that The Green Show will be a cost-effective effort for
you and your company, offering a good ROI. We look forward to seeing
you at the show in 2008!
